REGION B FALL MEETING IS BEING MOVED

Location for the October 16th Region B meeting has been moved to the Kempton Fairgrounds Community Center. NOT the Rod & Gun Club. Same time – 10:00 A.M. County Line has an event there for the weekend, so it made sense to move the Region meeting there.

JR Racers October 2nd Race

The next race will be Sunday Oct 2 at 9. You must be registered by 8am Sunday. I will have Registration open at 7am Sunday morning. We will be doing an obstacle event. This is the first points race for the 2012 season. The high points winners will be getting their awards Saturday evening OCT 1 after the drags are over. We have nice trophies for the top ten points winners and all participants will get something (it’s a surprise)

Next Jr. Racer event will be Saturday afternoon at the Pine Creek race in Jersey Shore. This is going to be a single elimination drag event. This is going to be a heads up event by class. The kids will race right after the hill climb is over and the photo eyes can be switched to the drag strip. I am going to guess about 2-3 pm starting time. I am making deadline for registration 1pm. If you have any questions call me. Reminder this is the last points race for the 2011 season. We have a 3 way tie for 10th place as well as 2 or 3 right outside the top ten that could still make it in.

Jr racers run at 8am not 9am. So dead line for registration will be 7:30 am Sunday morning.

Next Jr. Race

Attention Jr Racers the next points race will be Saturday July 2^nd at Susquehanocks in Jersey Shore PA. This will be Saturday afternoon after the drags are done. We are making the deadline for registration 2pm. If you think you might have an issue getting there before 2pm call me ahead of time and register. I can fill out the registration form and pull a number etc and still be able to make up the bracket sheets. You can just sign the release form when you get there.

First Jr. Race of the Year

The first race of the year was an awesome event! We had 48 racers compete. Right now all 48 kids are in the top ten!! That is correct. If you raced at Delaware you are in the top ten right now. The kids had a muddy sloppy track to run the figure 8 on Saturday afternoon. Funny thing is I didn’t hear any complaints. We only had one minor accident on Saturday. Sunday morning the kids ran the drag strip. It was a really nice smooth track and all went well. I want to thank D4W for allowing the kids to run both drags and F8. They are the only club doing so this year. If anybody wants a copy of the points run down they can call me. I have it saved as a PDF file I can email to you. I will send the top 5 for now to be posted under the points section of the web site.

Attn Junior Racers!

The first Jr racers event this year is at D4W memorial day weekend. The Jrs, will race the F8 Saturday right after the EC4WDA F8 is over and the track is redressed. The DEADLINE for registration will be 1PM on Saturday for the F8. (No exceptions). If you know you wont be there by that time call Kirk Shenberger and he will pre register you. The Jrs will run Sunday morning at 9AM. I will do my best to make sure they will have lights this year.

2011 Points System for the JR RACERS.

I have been thinking about a possible change on how to do the points for the JR racers. The only thing that would change would be that the last race of the season, which would be the CHC race at Lebanon Fair would be the first race for the 2012 point series. This would mean that the prior race at Pine Creek 4wheelers labor day weekend would be the last race for the 2011 points series. Why do this??? For the last couple of years we have been doing the kids awards at the region B awards banquet. There has been a very poor turnout of JR racers present to get the awards or their fellow racers to show their support. I think it would be a much better presentation if we could hand out the awards at a EC4WDA race. This way most of the kids that run for points or run most of the time would be there to get their trophy and cheer on their fellow racers. Please let me know if you like this idea or not. How about any other changes? It could be for how we class the racers or do the points etc…
